He is such a handsome chap this zebra vase, that he doesn’t even need flowers to make a statement, but he certainly creates real wow factor when filled with floral loveliness. It’s fun to play about with different types of arrangement to see what suits, and in this case the zebra vase lends itself to so many styles and almost anything goes. To give you some tips for flower arranging in the zebra vase we have styled him in 3 different ways so you can see how different he looks.

Super Easy

<img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-5046 size-full" src="https://blogs.audenza.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/zebra-vase-with-flower-arrangement.jpg" alt="This small bunch of dainty chrysanthemum heads makes the zebra look like he is wearing a vibrant hat - or a dashing haircut- and it’s so cheap and easy to do with any small flower heads. It takes minutes to cut the heads and pop them in the vase. For more ideas and inspiration, take a look at the intermediate and pro floral arrangements, created using the same zebra vase.
This small bunch of dainty chrysanthemum heads makes the zebra look like he is wearing a vibrant hat – or a dashing haircut- and it’s so cheap and easy to do with any small flower heads. It takes minutes to cut the heads and pop them in the vase, just enough to make a compact covering of the opening.

Intermediate

<img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5047" src="https://blogs.audenza.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/zebra-flower-vase.jpg" alt="This zebra vase is perfect for a simple bunch of tulips, which are literally just plonked in the vase and then we’ve added some fronds of greenery for extra height. As the tulips continue to grow when in water they droop beautifully over the sides of the vase.
He is perfect for a simple bunch of tulips, which are literally just plonked in the vase – we’ve added some fronds of greenery for extra height but they aren’t necessary – we just had them to hand so added some. As the tulips continue to grow when in water they droop beautifully over the sides of the vase.

Pro

For a real show stunner of an arrangement fill the zebra vase with an assortment of flowers of varying heights, and fill around with lots of greenery to give more height and depth. Because the vase only has a small opening it doesn’t take a lot to fill it and create a really lovely display. Some of the foliage in this arrangement is faux which is a great way to fill out your displays without buying fresh all the time.

What do you think to the different arrangements? Do you have a favourite? I really like the dainty chrysanthemums as he looks so cute!

Animals in our interiors are all the rage this season for bringing quirkiness to your décor and a smile to your face. Us ladies at Audenza love this look, but what do you think? Are you ready to join the wild side?

‘Into the Wild’ is a trend we can all take bits from to give our homes a touch of exuberant nature. Animals in our interiors, whether they be our own home grown variety such as badgers or the more exotic zebra’s, are all the rage this season for bringing quirkiness to your décor and a smile to your face. It can be as simple as adding a jug or two to fill with flowers and foliage, or rampant animal mania with some of the latest wallpapers which are extremely exotic and dashing. We all want our homes to be different, and a little bit of the curious and unexpected is the way to achieve this.

For those of you who want to just add a touch of pattern and glam to your décor these zebra vases are perfect. Understated, but a great way to include animals to your décor without redoing the whole look. Whether you are a pastel lover or prefer the dark side these zebras work. Even empty they make a quirky addition to an eclectic home but fill with colourful flowers and they are dazzling.

1. Framed Flamingo Print / 2. Zebra Vase / 3. Floral Romance Four Drawer Cabinet / 4. Flamingo Salt & Pepper Shakers / 5. Zebra Jug / 6. Faux Wall Mounted Skull

Shop the full trend >>

Into the wild comes into its own with our new ‘Floral Romance’ furniture. The combination of dark floral and exotic animal prints is a veritable extravaganza of pattern and colour that gives an imaginative and surreal twist to interior décor that brims with whimsy and playfulness. Add as little or as much as you like depending on how joyful you want to be.

This wallpaper is from a A Shade Wilder and is not for the faint hearted but what a statement it makes. The black is called ‘Flamingo Beach After Dark’ and the orange is called ‘Flamingo Beach Calypso’ – even the names are exotic! Fabulous aren’t they but definitely only for the brazen.

Tips for styling animal interiors:

– Take inspiration from the patterns/markings of animals – and remember, it doesn’t have to be literal.

– Don’t be afraid to mix different patterns, like the floral cabinet above with zebra stripes. Mixing different patterns is key to an eclectic look; it helps to lift any scheme and give it some oomph!

– Leopard print is quite a hard one to get right, so if you’re not sure, go for non-traditional colourways, which takes the look from potentially tacky to totally trendy.

– Florals are a great contrast against animal interiors; for up to date florals, try using oversized or impressionistic prints in dark colourways, rather than traditional patterns.

– As we mentioned in our ‘Nailing the Tropical Rainforest Vibe’ post, monkeys are having a real moment in interiors – they’re the new pineapple! Shop monkey décor.

– As with any décor scheme, bringing in elements of texture will be key to make the look work. For this, think feathers, fur, wool and of course, velvet (always velvet!).

Us ladies at Audenza love the eclectic look, so ‘into the wild’ is the perfect combination of wild pattern and colour that we love. What do you think? Are you ready to join the wild side?

The tropical interiors trend has evolved… We’ve gone from Caribbean Island to Amazonian rainforest. What do you think, will you be tempted into the jungle?!

This trend is so fabulously lush that we can’t resist it here at Audenza. You may remember Hollie talking about the tropical interiors trend at the start of the year but, as with all trends, they evolve through time so now we have the rainforest vibe to tempt you further into the steamy jungle. We’ve gone from Caribbean Island to Amazonian rainforest, which means layer upon layer to envelope you in paradise.

Image credit: Schulzes Farben- und Tapetenhaus

How fab is this room, it looks like a colonial bolt hole with its layers of green, tall palms that sway to the breeze, and parrots in the background.

The key points for nailing the tropical rainforest vibe are:

– The trend now is definitely more Amazonian rainforest, than tropical paradise; so go really wild, exuberant and leafy, with tall layers of palms, bamboo and ferns.

– Colour: think verdant and definitely green on green, but more muted, natural shades than the previous look. If you want to add some colour, blues work really well with this look (despite the ridiculous old adage, ‘blue and green should never be seen).

– Release the animals into this wild new jungle. It’s all about the exotic animals you bring into the décor, never mind where their natural habitat is, from monkeys to elephants to zebra.

– Pattern: think of the patterns of wild animals and their wonderful markings, and then add a layer of tropical flowers for a bit of excitement.

– Jaguars are the King of the Jungle and we have some brand new leopard vases, yes we know a leopard is not a jaguar, but to the untrained eye, they’re going to give the jungle rainforest look!

Bathrooms are always the easiest place to go wild with your décor and this one certainly fulfils that brief with fantastical wallpaper, layers of lush greenery, and striking colours.

Monkeys are the new pineapple and they’re showing up everywhere – from bookends to cushions – who can resist a monkey or two? Especially when surrounded by palm fronds!

Shop the tropical trend >>

The easiest way to add greenery is to fake it and this tall faux areca palm tree looks the part, with no TLC required, and an elephant side table to add to the exotic jungle look, albeit in an understated way.

So now you have the key points it’s up to you whether you go the whole rainforest look, or just add some touches to your décor to give you a hint of the steamy jungle.
