Dreamy Pink Décor Ideas
18 Jul 2017
Blush, hot, peachy, soft, dazzling or pastel – whichever pink takes your fancy they are all delicious in their own way, and I think every home needs a touch of pink in celebration of such a glorious, dreamy colour. But not everyone is as taken with the hue as we are, so we’ve collated some of our favourite pink décor ideas from Instagram to get your creative juices flowing.
So, how do you play it? Do you go for the hot pinks or the pastel pinks? I can be drawn either way depending on the look I want to achieve – subtle or out there! I have a soft dreamy blush wallpaper in my pink and gold bedroom, which I find calming and zen like, but I did have a hot pink front door for a few years which was always a talking point. To get you in the vibe we have drawn together some stunning images of pink décor ideas in all its many guises, (be it interior or exterior) to help you visualize how to rock this fabulous hue.

This is a similar colour to my previous front door and it makes a real statement that’s certainly not to be forgotten.

A fabulous courtyard with two tone walls, contrasting green railings and masses of green foliage, which gives a wonderful continental feeling to this outside space. There’s just something about green plants against a pink wall, which really works. Try searching for #plantsonpink on Instagram and you’ll see what we mean…

This front door, painted the softest of shades looks so grown up and chic that it’s hard to resist. And of course, the combination with metallic touches just lifts the look even further. You can shop pastel pink and gold homewares here.

This bedroom is an explosion of pink, but tone it down with some black and it instantly becomes more cutting edge and slightly racy. FYI there’s also a tutorial on Bianca’s blog for how to make THAT headboard, so if you’re feeling like a new project, then do check it out: DIY headboard.

If you are not sure about going bright but want to experiment, then the perfect place is the bathroom or cloakroom. This is a real show stopper of a bathroom, but needless to say, you have to be pretty keen on hot pink!

For a subtle and stylish bathroom, soft pink and black has echoes of the jazz age and makes a relaxing and calming space.

I will be definitely moving to the pink side at some point. Maybe not the hot pink, but I like how peachy pink looks outdoors in that courtyard, or that soft pink door with the pooch (an idea I may steal if I find out how to paint UPVC doors).
The peach courtyard works really well, doesn’t it. For me, there’s just something about pink and plants, which just works perfectly.
I just Googled painting a UPVC front door, and it certainly looks like it’s possible. Would love to see a oic if you do go for it!
I’m not normally a huge fan of pink BUT I absolutely love blush and pastel pinks so the door (and the adorable frenchie) is definitely right up my street !! I will show this to my friend as she’s obsessed with pink home decor !
Thanks for your comment, Evija! I know pink isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so it’s always good to hear from a non pink fan to get their opinion! I think the pastel pink door is one of my fave pics in this selection actually 🙂
Pink is the colour of the year – lots of great ideas here on how to use different shades of pink!
Thanks so much for your comment, Tamsin. Glad you enjoyed it!
First of all, thank you for the tip on the Italian island of Burano – this might inspire a whole post on my blog! Secondly, I love hot pink. My latest obsession is hot pink piping on furniture and cushions!
Pink is really getting more airtime lately, and a lot of inspiring interior blogger homes have helped achieve this.
I also love pink and black, I find this a very formal combination, and very chic indeed!
Burano is so pretty, it’s an absolute must visit for colour lovers like us!
I’m so pleased that pink is getting more airtime recently, it’s always been one of our favourite colours, but in the past, it’s had very shabby chic connotations. But like you say, mixed with black for instance, it completely changes the look.
Pink my my absolute favourite colour, I just wish I had the confidence to go full on Barbie in my home. Great read!
Thanks Athina, glad you enjoyed it! Go full on Barbie pink… I dare you! 😉
I’m planning on painting my entire apartment pink, going full Barbie!
