Interior Trends AW13: Ethnic
22 Nov 2013
Now that we are so much more well-travelled and it’s not just the preserve of the aristocracy our homes can reflect this. The ethnic look is still a strong interiors trend, but less obvious, using elements from the Far East in a more subtle and surprising way. It’s about celebrating craftsmanship and age old techniques in a modern way – less bling and more pops of jewel colours in carefully crafted products. Why not acknowledge our travels to other cultures and the diversity of what’s available? After all for a home to feel loved it should be an accumulation of our lives and experiences, curated, of course, otherwise it would probably look like a charity shop! We live in such a multi-cultural world now why not grab the best of what each has to offer?
We’ve put together a mood board with a few ideas and inspirations for this look-

What do you think to this trend- have you already got any ethnic inspired pieces or looks in your home? If you haven’t already, have a look at our other posts for more interiors inspiration and tips.
Have a lovely weekend all!

I love Japanese details, and have a few dotted around the house.
Having ethnic pieces around the house really adds another layer doesn’t it- I love the contrast with other eras and styles as well.
