Interiors Trends Autumn Winter 2013: Eccentric Chateau
17 Sep 2013
With a new season upon us, we thought we’d do a series of posts on the interiors trends for this autumn/ winter to give you a helping hand updating your homes this season. Remember, most of the interiors trends at the moment are not about stripping the walls, ripping out all existing furniture and starting from scratch, they’re intended to be updates. The trends follow on from previous seasons, but with slight changes to keep the looks fresh. Just pick elements that you like from each trend, that resonate with you and use the themes as a guide as to how to update your current look.
So, first up, is the ‘Eccentric Chateau’ trend:
You will perhaps recognise this as an update to the shabby chic/ French country look, but this season it comes with a twist. Update the traditional country feel, with more eclectic, colourful pieces and incorporate linens, toile and paisley with bolder patterns and slightly brighter colours. This trend is less about beige, grey and cream and more about brighter pinks, yellows and bolder blues. Still of course, with a shabby chic, distressed look, but mixing it up with colour and pattern is the key here.
We’ve put together a mood board to give you a feel for this look:
