Trend Alert: Pastel Lustre
26 Aug 2016
Since the announcement of Rose Quartz as one of the Pantone Colours of the Year, pastel pink has had a resurgence in interiors. We’ve always loved pink at Audenza and it’s continued to feature in our homes, but in recent years many stopped decorating or accessorising with pink for fear of being ‘too girly’. No longer reserved for nurseries, blush is officially one of the season’s hottest colours for home décor and particularly so when enlivened with a splash, or more, of metallic for a really contemporary feel.

For the Pastel Lustre trend think soft pastel hues, combined with glossy gold, brilliant brass or charming copper for a truly delicious makeover. Whether you choose to go for gold furniture, against a pastel backdrop, or pick up some soft hued accessories and jazz them up with a bit of bling. Amelia has put together a mood board for you to get the feel for the pastel lustre trend and to give you some ideas for furniture and accessories and show you how easy it is to add some blush to your interior. A great paint colour is Calamine from Farrow & Ball, which is the colour we have used in this shot.

If you don’t want to go the full pink this is a fab colour from Little Greene paint called Button, which looks rather drab on the shade card but gives a warm, soft glow without actually being pink and really shows off the gold tripod table and gold dog watering can.

And if you want more inspiration for pastel lustre this is my bedroom with a gorgeous wallpaper from Designers Guild in a soft blush pink (no longer available in this colourway, unfortunately) with a gold and cream flower pattern. Lots of gold with the ornate bed and bedside table for dramatic impact. And my usual quantity of mirrors, in gold, of course, to add light and reflection. My chest of drawers is in a strong turquoise because I do like some contrast but if you wanted to keep to a soft, dreamy feel it would look good in blush pink as well.

Have we tempted you away from the dark side yet? We’re officially crushing on blush!
