I’ve just fallen in love – with a washbasin – of all things! I didn’t know such beauties existed, they are like works of art and now I want one, but that’s not going to happen for a while as my bathrooms are pretty new. Ah well I can but dream in the meantime, but for any of you out there in the process of designing a new bathroom, this is definitely one for the sourcebook.
Mother and daughter team, Anna and Nathalie, started London Basin Company when Anna was looking for a ‘statement’ basin in one of her interior design projects and couldn’t find what she was looking for. They then decided to join together and fill an obvious gap in the market by creating these amazing basins.
How can 1 simple change instantly improve your garden you might well ask? Well there are lots of simple things that will improve your garden but this is the one I notice the most! And it’s so easy to rectify and so easy to create a pleasing and harmonious display with this simple tip.
Have you ever sat in traffic jams surveying people’s front gardens? I do it regularly because: a) I can’t abide sitting in traffic and always look around me at the view to try and decrease my irritation and b) I’m nosey about other people’s houses and gardens, and it’s always pots dotted about in isolation that I notice the most, and itch to liberate from their lonely solitude!
We have a very special treat for you today, a masterclass in moody interior design, in the form of a house tour and interview with one of our favourite Instagrammers, Pati Robins. We’ve been following Pati on Insta for some time now, and her design and styling ability never fails to amaze us. Clearly it’s not just us wowed by her moody and eclectic home though, she has an ever growing following count and craaazy amounts of likes on her posts. So we wanted to bring her home to you, and share a full house tour, as well as hear more about the lady behind this stunning abode.
Firstly, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi my name is Pati – always impatient, slightly crazy, always on the go, owned by 2 dogs, mum, wife and a carer to an army veteran husband. I was born in Poland – I met my husband while on holiday here, so in 2006 I moved to UK and I love it here – the views the greenery and the people – you guys are awesome x
He is such a handsome chap this zebra vase, that he doesn’t even need flowers to make a statement, but he certainly creates real wow factor when filled with floral loveliness. It’s fun to play about with different types of arrangement to see what suits, and in this case the zebra vase lends itself to so many styles and almost anything goes. To give you some tips for flower arranging in the zebra vase we have styled him in 3 different ways so you can see how different he looks.

I’d seen these wall hangings in inspirational bohemian style homes all over Pinterest and Instagram. Usually made up of the same type of feathers in all one colour, they add a sense of drama and fun in an interior scheme.
I was totally up for DIY-ing my own version. Yet, if I was going to go for it I wanted it to be really dramatic, a mix of feather types, different colours, big and bold!

Sheepskin rugs are back, with a new twist – colour – and don’t you just love this new incarnation of the seventies trend? I do, and much more so than the last time around, because FYI: sheepskins don’t need to be rustic anymore! Well, they have always been around but they are really grabbing the scene now, with their delicious colours and crimped hairdo. Just right for snuggling up to and making a chair cosy, or to sink your bare feet into as you get out of bed.
Sheepskins have a reputation for being limited to the rustic/Nordic trend, but these new boys are above trends and fit right in wherever you want them to. See how we’ve styled them from quirky, to glam, to boho, to outright ‘I want one’!

But along came ‘Brigitte’ – the glamavan who now calls St Tropez her home. Bought for £250 from eBay and transformed into a bohemian paradise by her owner, interior designer and blogger, Jane Ashton. We couldn’t wait to share the renovation with you, so we asked Jane to tell us more….
We all love a bit of wallpaper but it’s an expensive option so we often play safe, which is such a shame when you see the fab wallpapers out there, so here are 5 tips for incorporating bold wallpapers in your home to get your creative juices flowing.
1. Bold wallpaper behind open shelving for just a splash of pattern. You may remember spotting this fabulous wallpaper in our sourcebook post: 17 Patterns and this is a great way to add some drama into a room without going crazy – and it’s so much cheaper, of course! 3 Sumptuous Colour Palette Ideas for your Home

Daylight, glorious daylight – it’s such a transforming feeling to have more hours of daylight that it makes me start to think of my home, and my garden, in a new light and to feel ready for a change and a refresh. And the obvious place to start is with these 3 sumptuous colour palette ideas for your home. We are all drawn to certain colours but it’s not always easy to visualise how to use them in a room scheme or what colours to accent with, or even how to achieve the effect we want, be it moody, colourful, spring like or even dramatic, so Amelia has put together 3 colour palettes to give you ideas.
Paula Pryke’s latest book, called ‘Floristry Now, Flower Design and Inspiration’ was released on Thursday 16th February and is full of inspirational tips and ideas for your own floral arrangements. Paula Pryke, who was recently awarded an OBE for services to floristry, has nearly 30 years’ experience as a successful and award winning florist, so there is plenty here to inspire the budding florists among you.
The book deals with different elements of floral design from where to take inspiration from – nature, art and design and trends, to creating a style – wild, from the garden, classic and structured and moves onto colour inspiration and seasonal palettes. The section entitled working with flowers goes into detail as to how to create various seasonal bouquets from flower shop favourites to garden favourites and there is also a section on creating displays with stems and foliage. There aren’t many ‘how to’s’ however as it’s more of an inspirational book guiding you through style, colour and shape.
