I really love this rustic round plant pot – the shape is so curvaceous and I love the contrast between the shiny black finish and the rough, matt texture at the top – so couldn’t resist having a play about filling them in different ways. Because the pot doesn’t have drainage holes it makes it very versatile for inside or out and can be used as a vase.
I love the sculptural shape of aloe vera and it doesn’t have the nasty spikes like cactus. I used polystyrene in the bottom of the pot as drainage space, and also to cut down on weight, and then planted the aloe vera in some potting compost with moss to cover the soil.
Flower Styling- Just Because
2 Feb 2015
Just as a quick post today, I wanted to share with you two gorgeous images which Amelia and my mum styled over the weekend. Originally, I was only going to use one image, but when we were discussing which, both of them preferred the top image and I preferred the bottom. So I thought we’d put it to the vote?!
I think for me with this one I like the vignette cropped a little closer in, and I love the combination of the marble board against the blue and the blue being that bit more vibrant. More than anything though, with both images it’s the colour combo for me; orange and blue… dreamy!
Styling Inspiration
22 Jan 2015
We sent out products to three of our favourite bloggers and asked them to style it in their own home, in their own style. This is the results!
We decided that we’d love to work with a few, select bloggers to style our products; we have a particular look with our styling (as most do) and it we thought it’d be fantastic to see how other stylists work with the same items. We knew exactly who we wanted to work with for this and we were really excited that they all agreed to get involved. We sent out different products to each and you can see a snapshot of the results below:
Copper Interiors – Making it Work
19 Jan 2015
Copper interiors are here to stay, and with new products being launched all the time it’s worth updating a few accessories to bring a copper glow into your home. Go whichever way you want with it from shiny, smooth copper to give a sleek feel or warm, beaten copper to add a soft glow of colour. Copper interiors is an exciting new trend and can be incorporated into any colour scheme but is really on trend combined with soft greys and moody blues.
This stunning kitchen, designed by Blakes London has just a few touches of copper in the splash back and pendant lights which lend warmth to a very simple colour scheme of grey and blue and immediately adds character and interest.
To start the year off I’d like to share with you a post which Jacqui contributed the Period Living blog. Last year, I had a meeting with a couple of the lovely ladies from Period Living to discuss upcoming ranges and they asked if we’d like to become a contributor to their blog. We, of course said yes! We settled upon the theme of how to style vintage pieces in a contemporary home, so each month we’ll be sharing our tips for two different trends. Our first post looks at dark walls with a pop of colour and also sunburst clocks and mirrors.
Dark walls, from grey through to blues and aubergine colours, have been on trend for a while now and are set to continue. Dark grey is a good neutral base for adding pops of colour.
